Supporting Independents | The Future of Retail
One positive to be taken from 2020 is that communities have came together in a way which hasn't been seen in 40 years. Shopping for grandparents & neighbours, clapping for key workers & supporting small businesses, to name a few.
As an independent business, we have been able to adapt to the changing climate much quicker than the big boys - delivering products locally & changing our product ranges to meet demand, at short notice. The public has appreciated this, but more importantly, recognised that shopping at a small business really does mean keeping food on a family's table, rather than paying massive dividends to shareholders.
We want to continue this trend into the longer term.
We urge everyone to consider their local independents more than ever as the economy begins to heal. While Amazon may be £1 cheaper, and you may be able to order at 23:00 for next day delivery, the wider benefits of shopping local are invaluable
Looking back at the pre-pandemic trajectory of struggling highstreets, its reassuring to see attitudes towards shopping small turning so positive.
